Family and support system involvement is considered a key component of our patients treatment. As part of the treatment team we want to know what issues and concerns families have about their loved ones. This helps the treatment team develop a comprehensive treatment plan around all the needs our patients have when admitted to our hospital. As families share their history and experiences we are able to develop insight and understanding with our patients.
Patients are encouraged to have regular communication with family. Phone calls and visitation are important for the patient to feel connected and supported during the treatment process. Families can gain reassurance that their loved one is in good hands and well cared for.
Families play a vital role in the aftercare of our patients. Encouraging their loved ones to take their medications as prescribed and keep their aftercare appointments will help ensure a successful transition back into the home and community.
Visitation is scheduled through our Clinical Therapy Department. Visitation may occur through Zoom or in person.
Our patients have access to a phone to reach out to their family and support system. They are able to provide contact information to their support system so you will know how to reach them.
We want to have a family/support meeting prior to the patient discharging from our program to make sure that everyone knows and understands the clinical care, concerns presented, and what the discharge plan will look like.
Our clinical team will reach out to the person designated by the patient in order to get information on the concerns that you might have about your loved one. You might be asked questions regarding what you see the patient struggling with and what you would like to see the patient accomplish while they are admitted into the program.
Your loved one will be participating in daily treatment programming, including group treatment, individual treatment, and family meetings. They will meet with a member of the medical team and treatment team on a daily basis.
Your loved ones may ask you to bring them some clothing and personal items. It will be important to look at the available options of what they may be allowed to have while they are here.
